Consistent with Federal government legislation, Price Perfumes endorses fair information handling practices. Any information provided, including identification of individuals, will be used only for the purpose intended and where the intention includes confidentiality, information will be retained as such unless otherwise required by law.
Visitor logs are used on this site for statistical purposes only. No attempt will be made to identify specific users or their browsing activity. De-identified data from these logs may be used to update and improve Price Perfumes web site.
E-mail addresses provided via this site will only be used to respond to specific user queries and will not be added to any mailing lists, nor disclosed to any other party without users' knowledge and consent and as intended, unless required by law.
Privacy Policy Background
Price Perfumes is bound by the Federal Government’s Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. The Legislation includes ten National Privacy Principles that set out how private sector organisations should collect, use, keep secure and disclose personal information.
The principles also give individuals a right to know what information an organisation holds about them and the right to amend it if it is incorrect. There are special provisions for sensitive and health information.
Under this Act an organisation must have a policy document outlining its information handling practices and make the document available to anyone on request.
The Privacy Act gives you a number of rights including the following:
- You must be told why personal information is being collected and whether it can be given to anyone else;
- You have the right to request access to the information held about you and if necessary to have it corrected so that it is accurate, complete and up to date.
- You have the right to have your personal information stored securely and protected from unauthorised access or misuse;
- You have the right to know how your personal information will be used;
- If you believe your privacy has been infringed you can make a complaint.
Why we collect information
Price Perfumes collects personal information from you to in order to provide you with the products that you order.
What information we hold about you
Price Perfumes holds personal information supplied by you. In addition, we hold test results for each donation.
Disclosure
Your information is not disclosed to any third party without your consent.
Access To Information
Should you wish to see what information we hold about you, you may email service@priceperfumes.com.au. Proof of identity will be required to ensure information is not disclosed to the wrong person. The information will be provided to you within 1 week.
Storage and security of information
Our security systems control access to record storage areas and electronic information is password protected. All staff and volunteers are bound by Price Perfumes Confidentiality Policy.
Making a complaint
If you believe that your privacy has been infringed, your concerns may be taken up with an Price Perfumes Privacy Officer. If you are not satisfied with our response you can refer your complaint to the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
